What we Do. We are an emerging collaborative effort comprised of people and organizations sharing the same goal:  optimal health experiences for all families giving birth in the United States. 

To do this, we envision a US Maternity Care System in which midwifery is the cornerstone of a sustainable workforce and each maternity care practitioner is working at the highest level and best use of their training and licensure, thereby creating a more supportive, accessible, empowering, and evidence-based system of maternity care that leads to improved outcomes.

Our networking role is enhanced through annual meetings, region-specific communities and topic-specific working groups in which participants exchange knowledge and improve methodology.  We welcome your participation in our vibrant community and are delighted to share, through this web portal, a wide variety of support, tools and publications to enhance project development and knowledge transfer.
